For those who saw the umpire get hit in the mask at the dodger game, was it a strike or a ball?

What do they call it when the home plate umpire gets knocked out??? It is a pitch on the pitch count and it has to be a ball or a strike and the pitch in this game could have been either. For those who saw the umpire get hit in the mask at the dodger game, was it a strike or a ball?
It was ruled a ball in this case. It is not automatically ruled a ball if a pitch strikes an umpire however. As you said, it is in the pitch count and is ruled upon just as any other pitch. Since the home plate umpire was obviously in no condition to make the call, the pitch was determined to be a ball by one of the other umps. For those who saw the umpire get hit in the mask at the dodger game, was it a strike or a ball?
It was a ball. Trust me, I was there. I personally saw the ambulance drive onto the field. He got hit in the throat by a 96 mph fastball! He didn't move for 10 minutes so I thought he was parylized/ dead, but then he moved and everyone clapped.
iit was a ball

it would have been high if it hit his jaw

i saw it and it was high

russel martin look like he was expecting a curveball
that was a hella bad ball because the catcher didn't catch it and i know from experience that if i don't catch it its a ball
I figure it was a ball since the catcher never touched it. I'm glad that ump will be ok.
You should worry more about the ump than the call
Well if it was high enough to hit him in the jaw, I'm guessing it was a ball.
It was a ball.
It was a ball. Too high.
