I know most hospitals have them. All of them do no bring them out for visitors.
What is worse, than going to the doctors; ill from something that is not a cold; your resistance at it's lowest ebb, and you sit with everyone coughing and sneezing everwhere. Of course the newborns are there as well. They have a certain amount of resistance but their moms do not.Do you think there should be masks issued in the doctors surgeries and hospitals for people with colds?
I agree...the best place to pick up germs is at the Doctors.....and who can be surprised at the amount of infection in Hospitals with all the visitors trailing in day and night. There should be a guard on the door and anyone with a cold, drunks, drug addicts and aggressive visitors should be turned away.Do you think there should be masks issued in the doctors surgeries and hospitals for people with colds?
Always been at a loss has how my GP doesn't come down ill often, whilst treating poorly folk.
The cold research center in uk allowed its inmates to walk the countryside, so long as they stayed 30 feet from other humans. So if we space chairs by 30 feet, hey presto, problem solved. Smile.
I think that if you are concerned about this, YOU should be wearing a mask. Then you don't have to worry about whether or not someone else does. You should also be sure to wash your hands and use a topical antibacterial gel when you've been around individuals who are ill, no matter what the setting.
Why yes, I think that would be a great idea.
Yet I think, hospitals, would make some sort of excuse as to why not to do it.
Which sounds horribel. =/
yes, I think medical faciliies should require people to utilize masks to prevent others from getting sick. In our doctors office it is not mandatory, but requested that everyone pick up a mask and wear it. I live in florida, and there are a lot of doctors following this practice here.
Absolutely - should be obligatory. good idea - how to get it taken on.
Also at the time of viruses %26amp; flu, the most dangerous place is the doctor's waiting room, hospitals, etc.
Who has got time to write this idea to the press!
Unless it's an emergency, most surgeries have a set day for ';new borns'; otherwise it's best to go to the hospital. Regarding the face masks, WHO is going to pay for them? NHS? or buy one as you go in?
most people wouldn't attend the doctors with a cold. if they have got any common sense they will use over the counter remedies and accept that it will go away in a few days.
as for wearing masks, that's not really practical. if you are that bothered, wear the mask yourself.
what about people attending with scabies or other infectious skin diseases...where do you draw the line?
Not really. Germs are passed on by touching door knobs, pens etc. People should wash their hands more too.
