Who has a CPAP machine. Do you have a nose mask or full mask. Does it benefit you or not.?

Im trialing one at the moment with a nose mask. Only had it 2 nights but have slept like a log.

Just wondered about others experiences with themWho has a CPAP machine. Do you have a nose mask or full mask. Does it benefit you or not.?
My husband also has a CPAP machine with a mask which covers his nose but not his mouth. He found it somewhat difficult to adjust to, at first, as it dried his nasal passages, and he would remove it in his sleep. However, without it, he suffered from chronic sleep apnea -- alternately waking and dozing at short intervals all night. This left him feeling exhausted all the time and he had trouble concentrating, never felt good, and was very cranky and irritable. Now he sleeps 8 hours or more a night without interruption, no longer snores (he used to make a noise louder than a freight train!) so I also sleep better, and he simply keeps a glass of water on a night stand next to the bed in case he wakes up with a dry mouth. It is absolutely wonderful and he would not be without it now. Who has a CPAP machine. Do you have a nose mask or full mask. Does it benefit you or not.?
I have a nose mask and have used a CPAP for a couple of years now. WOW, what a difference in my life! I sleep soundly and wake with so much more energy. I get more done in the same amount of time and I'm not grumpy all the time from being tired. I've lost weight because I'm more active and I'm enjoying life more.

When I was diagnosed, I had 726 interuptions in my sleep in one night between Central and Obstructive Apneas and Hypopneas. I only had one central sleep apnea so the CPAP was the right answer to the question.
Hi, I am a 52 yo male,

I have been using my CPAP machine with a full mask, for over 3 years. I can now get a great night sleep every night.

Before I got my CPAP, I was not getting very much ';good'; sleep at all.

I have tried not using the CPAP recently, as the mask is now damaged, with age, %26amp; it leaks %26amp; therefore doesn't work properly.

I need a new mask but the pension won't stretch that far at present.

My opinion is that I could not go back to no CPAP again.

Even with the leak it give me a reasonable night sleep.

Also, if you are going to buy a unit, make sue it can be used on 12 volt as well as 240 volts, and use a humidifier with the unit. this stops your throat from drying out %26amp; can give you a heavenly sleep.

Unfortunately I have only used a full mask so I can't comment on the nasal type,

but I am considering one as, the full face can get a bit hot in summer.

Hope this helps.

Regards John
My full nose mask works excellent. My brother uses the small nasal mask and likes it a lot. Try them both and see what you like. Changed my life when I started using one.
My husband has the Cpap with the nose mask. It is wonderful. He said he feels terrible now if he sleeps without it. He is much more rested. Keep using it.
