Why do doctors put on masks when in surgery room?

To reduce the chance if spreading germs.

If they accidently hit an artery and blood squirts out they won't have so much in their mouths.

Yuck! Why do doctors put on masks when in surgery room?
Masks may be paper or and plastic shield full facial depending on the condition of the patient and infection he/she has or and carrying. During procedures bloody splashes, then infection is transferred on who ever the blood lands.

The other reason being so the medically team do not transfer infection to the patient if they cough or what ever????Why do doctors put on masks when in surgery room?
The operating room is a sterile enviorment. Airborne germs can very easily cause a serious infection in the patient e.g MRSA in which some antibiotics have no effect. Also it is to protect the medical staff from getting any airborne germs.
To protect themselves or you from spreading germs or bacteria.
So you can't recognize them.... Actually it is to help prevent the spread of germs and reduce the risk of infection.
so that spit and germs dont get in
to avoid smelling your dirty blood....im a nurse duud.....,';'
why do people take baths!? come on now! to keep there germs and bacteria from going inside and infecting there patients...YOUR A DEE DE DEEEEE!!!!
to avoid passing germs in and out
so they dont spread germs. In surgery your body is open to all kinds of bactery in the room and tools have to all be sanitary - hope i helped
for the same reason an operating room is sterile. opening up a persons body leaves them exposed to any and all bacteria which could cause a fatal infection. if the doctor coughs to clear their throat or sneezes, it could be dangerous.
so that bacteria %26amp; other germs from their mouths %26amp; saliva doesn't go flying around %26amp; end up infecting the patient
To decrease the chance of infection from airborne germs.
