How can I make a plague doctor's mask?

For a spirit week costume, I'd like to make a plague doctor's mask, although I don't want to make one out of construction paper, because it would be destroyed before the end of the day.


Does anyone know how I could make a mask that's durable enough to survive a day at school, or where I could cheaply buy one? (Preferably not off the internet).

Awesome idea! Are you any good with paper mache or plaster of paris? Those are the only things I can think of that you can get at the craft store. I can't think of anywhere to buy an actual mask that isn't internet based, sorry.
